This successful international conference took place November 7, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at The Catholic University of America (CUA) in Washington, DC to coincide with the 800th anniversary of this historic, yet unfortunately unknown event.
The conference’s focus was to shed more light on the historic meeting that took place between Saint Francis of Assisi and the Sultan of Egypt, Malik al-Kamil in 1219 during the Fifth Crusade and explore the transformative impact of this encounter.
CECF was delighted to partner with The Catholic University of America (CUA) and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) on this conference, the first in a series of three. We look forward to the second program in Rome and Assisi, Italy, in August 2020 and the third program in Cairo and Damietta, Egypt, in 2021.
Additional information will be announced on CECF’s website as it becomes available. If you have any questions or would like to register, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.Click here for Conference Details
