2019 BUBW International – Uganda for East Africa
March 13 - March 16
CECF will be conducting its 34th BUBW conference, in partnership with the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU). The focus will be on multiple sectors of society – youth and religious leaders, university students, young professionals, women and representatives of civil society organizations.
From religious & tribal extremism, Intertribal & Interfaith conflicts, to gender inequality, youth unemployment, and perceived economic marginalization, CECF has identified critical challenges that require collaboration across various members of society. The faith-based sector is a key player. Understanding the dynamic role faith has in tackling each challenge is the aim of this BUBW conference.
Unless there is religious freedom and cooperation, un-empowered groups, including women and youth, will not have a seat at the table and their vital voices will not be heard. Extremist ideologies, whether related to faith or culture, cannot be prevented or detected and countered, unless interfaith and inter-sector cooperation is promoted. This BUBW conference, which will focus on leadership, cooperation and development, seeks to lay the foundation for that goal in Africa and globally.
The BUBW International – Uganda from March 13-16, 2019 will have unique components each day and will end by bringing representatives of the entire society for a banquet on Saturday, March 16th, to celebrate “Prosperity and Cooperation in Diversity”.
